Each time I visit my family in Missoula, it seems we always travel HWY 93 toward Flathead Lake and Glacier National Park. Without exception, I am never disappointed when we crest the hill just past the National Bison Range and are greeted by the Mission Mountains in all their majesty. The setting sun lights up mountain peaks in the Missions. From a pale rose to a deep salmon until finally the full moon takes center stage. This painting came from a compilation of dozens of photographs taken on a cloudless full moon evening from an outlook high above the National Bison Range.
